Semiosis of reality, 2018-2020

"Semiosis of Reality" is a project about a chain of observers, the observation of conceptual photographer Jeff Wall, who quotes the entire history of art.
Jeff Wall explores photography itself, its functioning in the media space, its poetics and "photographic truth". The viewer sees in the works of Jeff Wall a kind of usual reportage, documentary or genre photography, which does not seem to stand out against the general background of other similar reportage photographs. But in fact, the staged randomness in his works is a complex staged photograph, usually very expensive, in the creation of which professional actors are usually involved, special scenery is built, and Hollywood special effects specialists are invited.
The artist investigates the question of the viewer's perception of the photograph. He slips a "fake" to the viewer, and the viewer thinks that everything really happened that way. The artist deliberately models such plots, which the viewer automatically perceives as accidental reality.
Jeff Wall is an observer, and the author of the project is also observing the observer. In the process of such optical distortions, a new meaning is born, a non-existent reality is copied, a simulacrum is born.
